Rhyne Howard scored 20 points and hit five 3-pointers to lead Atlanta past Toronto 94-87 in Monday's Dream vs Tempo matchup. The win extends Atlanta's streak to four in a row while boosting the Dream atop the Eastern Conference.
Despite Howard's strong showing, the Dream's best performance belonged to rookie center Madina Okot.
Rookie Madina Okot Ignites Dream Off the Bench
The 6-foot-6 Kenyan draft pick came off the bench to post a career-high 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting while adding seven rebounds to Atlanta's stat line. Allisha Gray matched that total with 18 of her own. Together, the two helped the Dream build a 59-41 halftime lead that swelled to 23 points.
Toronto (8-9) clawed back behind standout guard Marina Mabrey's game-high 23 points and forward Isabelle Harrison's 21-point double-double. The Tempo subsequently trimmed the gap in the third quarter, but Atlanta's ball movement held them off.
