The pick comes as a bit of a surprise, as many did not have Hollingshed going in the first round. Just Women’s Sports’ Rachel Galligan had the forward going in the third round, at No. 26 overall.
Hollingshed averaged more than 10 points per game in each of the last three seasons. Last season, she averaged 14.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. She also shot 39.6 percent from 3-point range, meaning that there’s not a whole lot that Hollingshed can’t do for the Aces.
She joins an Aces team that includes A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum and Chelsea Gray in their first year under head coach Becky Hammon.
