One day after making her second public appearance since her return from Russian detention, Brittney Griner was back out Sunday to enjoy the Super Bowl in Glendale, Ariz.
The Houston native was on hand for the matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs with wife Cherelle. Both rooting for the Eagles, Griner wore a Randall Cunningham jersey and Cherelle donned a Reggie White jersey.

Griner was also in attendance at the WM Phoenix Open on Saturday.
The 32-year-old has reappeared in public since she was freed from Russian custody in December after the United States negotiated a prisoner swap with Russia for arms dealer Viktor Bout. Griner had been detained in Russia since February 2022 on drug charges. She was convicted and sentenced in August to nine years in a penal colony, but returned home to the U.S. less than three months later.
The eight-time WNBA All-Star center remains unsigned in free agency. Griner said after her release that she intends to play for the Phoenix Mercury again this season. Shortly after her return home, Griner picked up a basketball for the first time and dunked.
Griner’s Eagles lost to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, 38-35.
