The WNBA will provide charter flights for the Chicago Sky and Phoenix Mercury between Game 2 and Game 3 of the WNBA Finals.
Commissioner Cathy Engelbert announced the news during a press conference on Saturday, saying the league will cover the travel costs for the flights. One day separates Wednesday’s Game 2 and Friday’s Game 3, with the teams traveling from Phoenix to Chicago.

Travel woes have plagued the WNBA Playoffs, with Chicago Sky coach James Wade and Connecticut Sun Curt Miller among those to publicly lament the complicated travel arrangements between games.
New York Liberty owner Joe Tsai has since spoken out on the issue, saying that he is searching for a charter sponsor for the league moving forward.
