The opener of the Women’s European Championships this summer has become the latest match at the tournament to sell out.

The match between England and Austria will take place at Old Trafford, which has a capacity of 74,000, and is the third of England’s three group matches to sell out. Eight of the 31 games at the summer tournament are out of available tickets – including the final at Wembley.

Other games to sell out include Belgium vs. Iceland, Italy vs. Iceland and two of the quarterfinals.

The tournament stands to be the biggest Women’s European Championship ever, with three times as many tickets available as at the 2017 Euros in the Netherlands, which currently stands as the largest championship ever.

With the final at Wembley sold out, the attendance record for a single women’s soccer match in England – which currently sits at 80,203 spectators – stands to be broken. A total of 87,200 tickets have been sold for the final.

The opening ceremony for Women’s Euros is on July 6, which will be followed by the sold-out England vs. Austria game.
