The latest WTA rankings landed Monday with small moves up top and bigger jumps below. Iga Świątek climbed one spot without playing, while Leylah Fernandez made the biggest leap to close in on the WTA Tour's Top 20.
Iga Świątek Climbs Rankings Despite Early WTA Tour Exit
Świątek rose one place to No. 8 with 4,389 points despite picking up zero points this week. She moved up only because Linda Nosková shed 325 points after reaching last year’s Tokyo final. She was the only Top 10 player to gain standing in this week's rankings update.
Świątek ended her 2026 season early due to injury and will not return until 2027, missing the WTA Finals for the first time in seven years. Elena Rybakina still leads at 9,501 points, with Aryna Sabalenka second.
Leylah Fernandez Leads Late-Season Risers
Fernandez jumped seven spots to No. 23. She reached the final at last week's 2026 Ningbo Open before falling to Rybakina, and recently won the Singapore Open. Katie Boulter rose 10 places to No. 48 — her best mark since August 2025 — and reclaimed her throne as England's top-ranked WTA player.
Katerina Siniakova made the biggest move in the Top 100. She climbed 37 spots to No. 49 after winning her sixth WTA Tour singles title in Osaka, beating Ashlyn Krueger 6-1, 6-0. Rybakina, meanwhile, can lock up this year's No. 1 with a deep run at this week's Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.
