The WNBA All-Star Game did not disappoint.

Team WNBA went off and showcased just how bad they wanted it, beating Team USA 93-85.

Arike Ogunbowale had nerves of steel in her first All-Star Game, showing up and showing out for 26 points to earn MVP.

Team USA’s Brittney Griner was in prime form tonight as well, finishing with 17 points, three rebounds and two assists.

Jonquel Jones hit a clutch three in the fourth quarter to tie the game. Jones also had a night, securing the double-double with 18 points, 14 rebounds and four assists. From there, Team WNBA would take a 75-71 lead and never look back.

But Team USA didn’t go quietly. Ariel Atkins hit a clutch three to cut the lead to five before Ogunbowale once again sank a three-pointer to extend Team WNBA’s lead.

The highly-anticipated matchup between Team USA and Team WNBA delivered. At halftime, Tina Charles called it “one of the better All-Star Games I’ve been a part of.” Afterwards, Commissioner Cathy Engelbert said she’d never seen so much defense played in an All-Star game.

Team USA will finish off the weekend playing against Australia on Friday at 2:30 p.m. before taking on Nigeria Sunday at 5:30pm. All times ET, with both games being televised on NBCSN.
