Bio: Based in Uncasville, Connecticut, the Connecticut Sun was founded in 1999 and plays in the Eastern Conference of the WNBA. Originally the Orlando Miracle, the team was purchased and relocated by the Mohegan Indian tribe in 2003. The team became the first professional sports franchise owned by a Native American tribe. The Sun has qualified for the WNBA Playoffs in eight of its 14 years in Connecticut. In 2004, 2005 and 2019, the Sun won the Eastern Conference Finals.
