
Russian state television released a photo of Brittney Griner on Tuesday. It is the first photo to be released since Griner was arrested at a Russian airport in February for allegedly having hashish oil in her luggage.
The booking photo was taken at a Russian police station, with Griner holding up a piece of paper with her name on it.
Griner’s exact location is currently unknown.

The WNBA star was on her way back to Russia to play with UMMC Ekaterinburg when she was detained.
According to a statement released by the Russian Federal Customs Service and obtained by the New York Times, a criminal case has been opened into the “large-scale transportation of drugs.” If convicted, the crime carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years.
On Monday, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham voiced his concern over Griner’s safety.
U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken declined to comment further on Griner’s case on Sunday but said that the United States will “provide every possible assistance” to citizens who are being held in foreign countries.
The game was the most-watched regular-season matchup since 2017.
She also has started every game this season for undefeated LSU.
Copper is the team's only returning starter in 2023.
