The Minnesota Lynx announced Tuesday that Natalia Achonwa and Mariah Jefferson will remain out indefinitely with injuries.
Achonwa, who suffered her injury May 8, will be out with a right hamstring strain, while Jefferson, who suffered hers on May 29, is out with a left quad strain.
As a result, the team has signed Elissa Cunane to a hardship contract. The center out of NC State was picked 17th overall during the 2022 WNBA draft by the Seattle Storm but was waived ahead of the season opener.
Jefferson in particular represents a big loss for the Lynx. She started in six games and averaged 14.2 points, 5.0 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.
Minnesota has continued to struggle to start the season, with a 2-7 record, good for last in the Western Conference and the second-worst record in the league.
