Team USA continued to dominate the Olympic hockey tournament on Sunday, taking down Switzerland 8-0. The team is now 3-0 at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
Hilary Knight, Kelly Pannek and Jesse Compher each notched two goals on Sunday, helping to put the game out of reach. Amanda Kessel and Dani Cameranesi added two more to make it five different goal scorers for Team USA.
Five of the U.S.’s eight goals came in the first period, with 12 different players earning at least one goal or assist.
Knight began the party for Team USA, scoring on the power-play within the first six minutes of the game. The U.S. has now scored on the power play in each of their three games. Knight scored her second nine minutes later unassisted. She now has five points through three matches.

Switzerland pulled goaltender Saskia Maurer after the first period in favor of Andrea Braendli. While the move slowed down the offensive production for the U.S., it didn’t stop it completely.
In total, the U.S. amassed 46 shots on goal. Team USA goaltender Alex Cavallini, in her first Olympic start, stopped all eight shots she faced.
Next up, the United States will close out preliminary round play with a game against Canada on Monday at 11 p.m. ET. The Canadians have also been dominating their opponents during the Olympics, winning by a combined goal differential of +21.
