Beatriz Haddad Maia of Brazil clinched her first WTA singles title Sunday, downing Alison Riske of the United States 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 to win the Nottingham Open.
The final, which lasted two hours and 18 minutes, was closely contested, with Haddad Maia edging Riske by winning 72.7 percent of her first-serve points.

Sunday’s victory makes Haddad Maia only the second Brazilian women’s player to win a grass-court title in the Open Era since Maria Bueno did so in 1968.
In her run to the Nottingham trophy, Haddad Maia notably bounced world No. 5 Maria Sakkari in the tournament’s quarterfinal. The 26-year-old Brazilian is currently ranked 48th in singles and 33rd in doubles.
It's Sabalenka's first title.
Instead, she'll set her sights on the doubles bracket.
Pegula is the last American woman standing.
