UConn injuries: Ducharme close to return, Fudd further out
UConn has struggled with injuries all season.
Los Angeles Sparks forward Nneka Ogwumike is out 4-6 weeks after suffering a left knee sprain, the team announced Thursday.
Ogwumike went down twelve seconds into the fourth quarter of Tuesday’s game against the Dallas Wings — an eventual 10-point loss that has dropped the Sparks to 2-3 on the season.
The six-time All-Star forward and former No. 1 overall pick who won WNBA MVP in 2016 was averaging 16.4 points per game, appearing in all five games so far this season. Last season saw Ogwumike average 13.3 points, 4.8 rebound, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
Her sister Chiney has also been ruled out for the next two games as well with right knee soreness. The former Rookie of the Year and two-time All-Star is listed as week-to-week.
The Sparks play the Indiana Fever, who are 1-8, tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET.
