Australian Open: Jessica Pegula falls in quarterfinals but won’t ‘sulk around’
Instead, she'll set her sights on the doubles bracket.
Poland’s Iga Swiatek offered words of support to the people of Ukraine after clinching the Qatar TotalEnergies Open title in Doha on Saturday.
“If sport can connect us even if a bit today and give us a tiny bit of joy in these tough moments, I’m grateful for that.”

During Switek’s on-court interview following her win over Anett Kontaveit of Estonia, the World No. 8 became emotional, saying, “I wouldn’t even imagine something like that happening to the country next to me.”
The 20-year-old went on to extend her support to all those suffering in Ukraine following Russia’s invasion of the country.
“If sport can connect us even if a bit today and give us a tiny bit of joy in these tough moments, I’m grateful for that,” Swiatek concluded.
Instead, she'll set her sights on the doubles bracket.
