
NWSL players and fans are still waiting on the 2023 schedule
The NWSL season begins March 25.
Christine Sinclair and Kelli Hubly headline the rosters for the co-ed PTFC For Peace charity match, an event held by the Portland Thorns and Timbers to raise funds for Ukrainian children and families affected by the war.
The 60-minute match is set to take place at 9 p.m. ET Wednesday and will feature players from the Thorns of the NWSL and Timbers of the MLS.
Co-captains Diego Chara and Hubly selected the roster for Team Blue, while Sinclair and Sebastián Blanco selected the squad for Team Yellow.
Team Blue includes goalkeeper Abby Smith and forward Sophia Smith, among other Thorns stars, while Team Yellow boasts UWNT star Becky Sauerbrunn, goalkeeper Bella Bixby and forwards Janine Beckie and Morgan Weaver.

The match, hosted at Providence Park, is free to the public, with donations encouraged. The club will match all donations up to $100,000, with proceeds going to UNICEF’s relief efforts in Ukraine and bordering countries.
