The Atlanta Dream moved to 2-0 on the season Tuesday night, with newly signed star forward Angel Reese leading the charge.
The Dream defeated the Dallas Wings 77-72 at College Park Center, a result that spoiled the Wings' home opener. Atlanta's Angel Reese anchored the win 16 rebounds, while Allisha Gray led all scorers with 26 points on the night.
Reese recorded her 51st career double-double, closing out the victory with 12 points and 16 rebounds.
At 24 years old, she is now the second-youngest player in WNBA history to reach 50 career double-doubles. Only Tina Charles reached this milestone at a younger age. Reese also collected eight offensive rebounds, a total that outperformed the entire Dallas roster.
Dallas Wings vs. Atlanta Dream: Match Player Stats
The Atlanta defense held the Wings to just 33.3% shooting in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
Gray led the game with 26 points, slotting four 3-pointers during the matchup. The 6-foot guard has now scored 50 total points through the first two games of the 2026 WNBA season. Atlanta's Jordin Canada added 19 points and five assists to her tally, providing critical scoring during the final period.
Unlike its opponent, the Dallas Wings struggled from deep, shooting just 4-of-26 from 3-point range. Arike Ogunbowale led the team in scoring with 20 points, while second-year guard Paige Bueckers recorded 15 points in her home debut.
Ogunbowale blamed the team's loss on a stagnant offense and less-than-convincing defense. "They were definitely playing physical," she told reporters after the game. "On a day that we're not really hitting shots, we have to pick it up on the defensive end."
However, Awak Kuier served as a bright spot for the Wings, contributing six points and four rebounds off the bench. The game marked the forward's first for the franchise, after two seasons playing in Europe.
