Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers are hitting the magazine racks, recently teaming up off the court and appearing on the latest issue of SLAM.

In addition to the cover, the UConn basketball teammates discuss their friendship in a feature story for the magazine.

“I would say our friendship is pretty insane,” Bueckers told SLAM while on the set of the cover shoot. “It’s pretty crazy. Just seeing the way we interact…We have so many similarities, but we also have so many differences. I don’t know, it’s like yin and yang.”

“But I feel like where we’re disconnected, we complement each other,” Fudd added.

The duo have led UConn to a 3-1 record to start the 2021-22 season. Bueckers, a sophomore point guard and the reigning National Player of the Year, is averaging a team-high 20.5 points and 6.5 assists per game. Fudd, a freshman guard and the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2021, is fourth on the team with 7.5 points per game.

Both players have been taking advantage of the NCAA’s interim name, image and likeness policy. While Bueckers most recently signed a major deal with Gatorade, Fudd teamed up with NBA player Steph Curry in a first-of-its-kind mentorship program and NIL deal.

Fudd and Bueckers will lead UConn against Seton Hall on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.
