The Thorns star is pledging to donate $250 for every appearance and $100 for every goal the team scores in support of Athlete Ally’s stated mission of ending “the rampant homophobia and transphobia in sport and to activate the athletic community to exercise their leadership to champion LGBTQI+ equality.”
Sauerbrunn also vowed to donate $500 for every goal she scores, adding new weight to the campaign for the legendary defender to find the back of the net.
