LA Sparks forward Cameron Brink didn't mince words when asked about the latest controversy swirling around the WNBA. In a live interview this week, Brink tore into Enes Kanter Freedom after the former NBA center crashed a Chicago Sky vs Indiana Fever game wearing a shirt defining the term "woman."
At the game, Kanter Freedom got into a verbal confrontation with Sky guard Natasha Cloud, approaching the court during a time-out before security removed him in the third quarter. The Sky have since banned him from home games indefinitely.

"I think it's a non-issue, and I think it's people trying to come for the trans community," Brink said of Kanter Freedom's anti-trans athlete campaign.
Then she took it a step further, calling Kanter Freedom "a stupid piece of s---" who's "just trying to stay relevant."

The stunt was part of a broader push from Kanter Freedom and fellow ex-NBA player Royce White, who both declared for the 2027 WNBA Draft claiming they identify as women. The league quickly ruled them ineligible. Notably, no WNBA trans athletes currently compete in the league, making the spectacle feel performative rather than grounded in any actual policy gap.
Even so, Brink, who is averaging 9.4 points, 5.0 rebounds since her return from injury, made her stance clear: the debate is a distraction, and she's not entertaining it.
