Cracker Jack announced Tuesday that it is adding a new face to its roster, introducing the character Cracker Jill as a way “to celebrate the women who break down barriers in sports.”

Additionally, the brand has committed $200,000 to the Women’s Sports Foundation, a nonprofit founded by Billie Jean King that supports women and girls in and through sports.

A total of five representations of Cracker Jill will debut on the special-edition bags that are available at ballparks as Major League Baseball opens its 2022 season Thursday. The representations were created by artist and model Monica Ahanonu, who based the illustrations on the most represented ethnicities in the U.S.

Those who donate $5 to the Women’s Sports Foundation will also receive the special-edition bags.

In addition to the bags, Frito Lay partnered up with singer Normani for a special take on “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”

“As a young girl, I remember being inspired by athletes and artists who looked like me. They made me believe that I could also achieve greatness as I watched them break barriers for women,” Normani said in a statement.

“I’m proud to be part of a campaign entrenched in inclusivity and empowerment because it’s vital for young girls to see themselves represented and join in on the celebration of the achievements made by the women before them.”
