Dakota Ditcheva didn't wait long after PFL Chicago's main event to issue her challenge in the ring. Once Jena Bishop won the women's MMA flyweight championship by unanimous decision over Liz Carmouche on Saturday night, the undefeated contender called for the next title shot.
Ditcheva Back from Double Hand Break in July
Her latest push for the belt came after months of recovery. Ditcheva sustained a devastating injury during her July win over Denise Kielholtz at PFL New York.
The top-ranked flyweight fighter broke both hands in their bout, knocking her out of competition just as she was building on an impressive run. Doctors have since cleared her to resume striking, and she has her sights on a February or March cage return.
"I'm ready to go," Ditcheva said during the broadcast. "I would love to get in and challenge someone for the belt. I’ve just got in and fought three rounds and won comfortably with two broken hands for the whole fight. So tell me what I can’t do now!"
Ditcheva Ready for Bishop Rematch
Should Ditcheva stay healthy enough for an early 2027 return, it wouldn't be the first meeting between her and Bishop. In August 2024, Ditcheva defeated Bishop inside the opening round. Since that loss, Bishop has won three straight, capping her run with a tight 48-47 victory over Carmouche to claim the title in Chicago.
The PFL hasn't booked the fight yet. Still, with Ditcheva sitting at 16-0 and Bishop now holding the belt, the PFL's next move looks like an obvious one.
