Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington said Monday that a viral "white privilege" post she made after fouling Sophie Cunningham was not aimed at the Indiana Fever guard personally.
Instead, speaking ahead of the Sky's Seattle Storm game, Carrington said the target of her frustration was league officiating.

The trouble started Saturday in Chicago. Carrington drew a Flagrant 2 foul for coming from behind on a fast-break layup and hitting Cunningham in the head and neck. She was subsequently ejected.
Minutes later, she posted "WHITE PRIVILEGE" on Threads while tagging the Fever. The backlash spread quickly on social media.

By Monday, Carrington addressed the post, telling reporters her issue is with how calls are handled in the WNBA, regardless of jersey or skin color.
"I would just love consistency across the board," she said. She's reportedly raised her concerns with the league office as well, but said she doesn't feel encouraged by those conversations.
Carrington also pushed back against analyst Emmanuel Acho, who called the post "ignorant" and "asinine" on X. "I've never once claimed that the assessment of the foul was White privilege (that was your assumption)," Carrington wrote.
As for the foul itself, she said the contact was not intentional. She also pointed to her timing being off since her return from injury.
"That's just how I play, I'm always going to go all out and try to get a stop," Carrington said.
"I'm not just going to let an open layup happen. But I'm never intending to hurt somebody, regardless of anything outside noise or whatever the situation may be."
