Arizona had been one of two teams left undefeated after No. 19 UNC fell to No. 5 NC State last Thursday. Colorado is now the lone undefeated team left in the NCAA.
The Wildcats were once again without starting point guard Shaine Pellington and starting post Lauren Ware.
“I thought the intensity was just a step behind the whole game,” Arizona head coach Adia Barnes said. “And I thought they did a really good job of jumping on us. It’s uncharacteristic for us to give up like in five minutes, we gave up at one point 15 points, and then the fourth quarter for us to give up 27 points. It’s not Arizona.”
The Trojans were hot from 3-point range, shooting 57.1 percent, including four in the fourth quarter from Alyson Miura. In total, Miura made up five of the Trojans’ eight three-pointers, marking a career best for the junior who finished with a team-high 15 points.
Jordyn Jenkins finished with 14 points – all in the second half – while Desiree Caldwell added 12.
Cate Reese led Arizona with a game-high 29 points and six rebounds. Bendu Yeaney was the only other Wildcat in double-digits with 12 points.
