Notre Dame got a bounce-back win against No. 3 UConn on Sunday, with a dominant 74-60 performance in the top 10 matchup.
The win marks the first non-conference top-three win for head coach Niele Ivey at Notre Dame, and the first loss of the season for UConn.
A big piece of the Huskies’ lineup was missing for the majority of the game, as Azzi Fudd appeared to go down with an injury in the first half. Teammate Aliyah Edwards appeared to fall backwards into Fudd’s right knee. Fudd later exited the game and went back to the locker room.
While a UConn spokesperson told ESPN’s Alexa Philippou that Fudd is “OK,” the guard did not start the second half. ESPN’s Holly Rowe reported on air that Fudd would “probably…give it another try.”
However Fudd did not re-enter the game after halftime.
Having played just four minutes in the second quarter, she was the only UConn player to not score as Geno Auriemma relied on his limited rotation.
Fudd has dealt with injury issues before, having spent time out last season due to a lingering foot injury. She later returned to help lead the Huskies to the NCAA championship game.
The loss of Fudd would be big for UConn, who have already lost Ice Brady and Paige Bueckers to season-ending injuries.
