No. 8 Indiana defeated No. 6 Maryland 70-63 in overtime on Sunday for their first win over the Terrapins in program history.

Indiana held a nine-point lead over Maryland with 3:14 to go in regulation before the Terrapins stormed back to force overtime. Junior guard Ashley Owusu made two layups in the last minute to tie the game 61-61.

The Hoosiers then outshot Maryland 9-3 in overtime to seal the historic win.

Ali Patberg led Indiana with 18 points, while Aleksa Gulbe added 17 points and ten rebounds and Mackenzie Holmes contributed 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Angel Reese recorded 22 points and 12 rebounds for Maryland, but the sophomore’s double-double wasn’t enough to overcome Indiana’s offense down the stretch.

The Hoosiers improve to 11-2 with the win and remain undefeated in conference play. Maryland falls to 10-4.
