According to the announcement, Krueger is due in July of 2022.
The 2022 NWSL season kicks off in March with group play for the Challenge Cup.
Krueger had a successful 2021 season with the Red Stars, starting in all 16 games that she played. She had a 70.8 percent success rate on her passes as the Red Stars made it all the way to the NWSL Championship, where they lost to the Washington Spirit.
Krueger recently signed a multi-year contract extension with Chicago, keeping the Naperville native close to home.
The defender also earned a spot on the USWNT Olympic roster this summer, first being named as an alternate before rosters were expanded to 22 players.
