The Dutchwoman clocked a time of 29 minutes, 55.32 seconds, besting Kalkidan Gezahegne of Bahrain and world-record holder Letesenbet Gidey of Ethiopia.
Hassan also won gold in the 5,000 and bronze in the 1,500, completing a stunning Olympic triple with the 10,000 championship.
