Team USA defeated Nigeria 93-62 in a much-needed win ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.

Sunday’s exhibition match served as the last competitive matchup before the squad travels to Tokyo for the Summer Games.

A’ja Wilson led Team USA’s effort, notching 16 points and ten rebounds while shooting  70 percent from the field.

Breanna Stewart followed close behind Wilson, adding 14 points and six assists to Team USA’s tally.

Sunday’s victory comes after Team USA suffered back-to-back losses, first against Team WNBA in the All-Star Game and again in Friday’s exhibition match against Australia.

In a post-game interview, Wilson said the team “had to get the job done.”

“We just got everybody involved,” said Wilson of the squad’s successful outing.

Team USA will face Nigeria again on July 27 in the team’s first preliminary-round game in Tokyo.
