The United States cruised past Switzerland 3-0 Friday night to kick off the IIHF Women’s World Hockey Championship.

Brianna Decker and Kendall Coyne Schofield each notched a goal and an assist, helping the U.S. to a comfortable opening-night win.

The U.S. kept the pressure up throughout the game, out-shooting Switzerland, 58-10.

On the other side of the puck, Alex Cavallini recorded her first shutout of the tournament, stopping all ten of Switzerland’s shots.

“I thought it was a great game and we’re really excited about the result, but also in how we played as a team,” said coach Joel Johnson.

The United States will next play Finland on Sunday at 9:30 pm ET, airing on the NHL Network.
