The U.S. women’s national soccer team has booked its ticket to Australia and New Zealand for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The USWNT’s shutouts over Jamaica and Haiti to open the Concacaf W Championship put the squad in prime position to take Group A and qualify, but Haiti’s 3-0 victory over Mexico in the late match Thursday sealed the deal.

As the 12th nation to clinch a World Cup berth, the United States joins co-hosts Australia and New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Sweden, France, Denmark and Spain on the list of qualified teams.

The USWNT will participate in its ninth World Cup, with the team looking to add to its record four tournament victories.

FIFA will hold the World Cup draw in October, with 32 nations set to compete in 10 stadiums across Australia and New Zealand.

With Mexico eliminated from qualification, second place in Group A is now up for grabs. Jamaica and Haiti will play for a World Cup berth Monday, with Haiti only needing a draw to qualify for its first-ever World Cup.

The United States will finish out Group A competition with its matchup against Mexico on Monday, having already secured a place in the tournament’s semifinal.

The winner of the Concacaf W Championship will secure an automatic bid to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
