“I tore my Achilles in last Sunday’s match and have surgery next week,” Huster writes. “An injury at such a critical point in the season and in my career is devastating, as you can imagine.”
Huster has been with the Spirit since 2013 after being picked second by the club in the NWSL Supplemental Draft. The veteran midfielder started 15 games during the 2021 season, notching one goal and two assists.
“This team is equally as fun to play with as they are to watch and I hope, with everything, I’m there to watch them in Louisville,” Huster said.
The Spirit will take on OL Reign in the NWSL semifinals on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.
