Simona Halep announced via social media on Wednesday that she and coach Darren Cahill have parted ways after six years together.

“Thank you D for everything, for making me a better tennis player and a better person,” she wrote.

The two first paired up in the summer of 2015, following Halep’s early exits at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Two years later she finished at No. 1 in the world and reached a second major final in Paris.

Following the 2018 season, when Halep won her first Grand Slam, the two briefly split before reuniting at the end of 2019. During that time, she won Wimbledon, defeating Serena Williams in the process. A calf injury kept the Romanian from defending her Wimbledon title this summer.

Halep has yet to name a new coach.
