Gotham FC survived a late-game push from Orlando to down the Pride 3-2, collecting three points in the NWSL standings on Sunday night.

Gaetane Thiney stuck first for Gotham FC with a long-range screamer in the third minute to put her side up 1-0 early.

Thiney struck again in the 47th minute with another long-range effort to double Gotham’s lead.

Minutes later, Gotham got on the board again with an incredible team build-up play, ending in Margaret Purce beating Ashlyn Harris for the 3-0 lead.

Despite the deficit, the Pride wasn’t ready to give up. Pouncing on a mistake by Gotham’s backline, Erika Tymrak powered a shot past Kailen Sheridan to put Orlando on the board in the game’s 85th minute.

Less than five minutes later, Marta converted from the spot to put the game at 3-2 down the stretch.

The thriller in Orlando came down to a final set-piece with goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris nearly scoring for the Pride. Gotham, however, weathered the late storm, taking home the road win.

One point now separates Gotham FC, at 29 points, and Orlando, with 28 points, in a tight NWSL table.
