Sydni Harvey played hero for No. 18 South Florida, sinking a three with 2.8 seconds left on the clock to clinch the 57-54 win over No. 7 Stanford on Friday.

The South Florida junior led her team in points with 15, shooting 4-for-7 from the field and 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. After the game, coach Jose Fernandez spoke to Harvey’s impact on the game and her status in the NCAA.
“For one reason or another she doesn’t get the attention that she deserves and I don’t know why,” said Fernandez. “People are going to start figuring out and knowing who Sydni Harvey is not only in our league but around the country.”
Elena Tsineke was clinical for the Bulls as well, adding 14 points, five rebounds and two assists, while Bethy Mununga pulled down a career-high 23 boards while contributing six points.

Stanford shot just 4-for-12 from the free-throw line, compared to South Florida’s 8-for-11. The Cardinal were also outrebounded 52-38, allowing the Bulls to pull out the close win.
Friday’s victory marks South Florida’s second straight win against a top ten team, after defeating then-No. 9 Oregon on Monday 71-62.
Next up: Stanford will have a quick turnaround, facing off against No. 2 Maryland on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET. The Bulls will have some time to rest, next playing UT Arlington on Thursday.
