Since the club’s initial statement, the team and league have been tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding LaHue’s exit. However, some new information has come to light.
According to reporting by The Athletic‘s Meg Linehan, LaHue’s firing was related to the league’s anti-harassment policy, which was released in April.
The policy asserts that the NWSL “is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and respectful work environment that is free from all forms of harassment (including sexual harassment) and discrimination.”
The document also states that, regarding investigations into harassment, “All necessary measures will be taken to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of such reports.”
Reporter Dan Lauletta shared a statement from the NWSL on the league’s investigation into LaHue’s conduct.
“Following a complaint, the league conducted an investigation and shared the findings of that investigation with Gotham FC. Those findings will remain confidential and the league will not comment further on individual club personnel matters.”
