Alexandra Eala is the WTA's grass-court Star of the Swing after a five-week tear that reshaped her season. The 21-year-old from the Philippines took home roughly 90% of the fan vote, beating out Wimbledon champion Linda Noskova and runner-up Karolina Muchova.
Eala's WTA rankings climb began in Birmingham, where she gutted out a rain-delayed week to win her second WTA 125 title. She then rode that form into a semifinal run at the Berlin WTA 500.
But Wimbledon was where everything clicked.

As the No. 29 seed, Eala became the first Filipino singles player to advance past the third round of a major in the Open Era.
The highlight of her campaign was a 7-6(9), 6-2 defeat of defending champion Iga Świątek on Centre Court. The win marked arguably the biggest upset of the tournament, capped by a viral diving shot.
Jasmine Paolini ended her All England run in three sets in the Round of 16, but Eala walked away sitting at a career-best No. 28 in the WTA rankings.
Next, Eala turns to hard courts. She's entered in the Mubadala Open in Washington, DC starting July 27th. She'll follow that with WTA 1000 events in Toronto and Cincinnati before hitting the hard court at the US Open.
