The call came late in the third quarter.
After Clark drew a foul on Connecticut's Olivia Nelson-Ododa, Sun guard Saniya Rivers began chirping at her. Clark fired back with one word: "Scoreboard." Officials assessed technicals to both players on the spot.
Still, the foul didn't affect her play. She finished with 27 points and 11 assists as Indiana cruised to a 123-88 win over Connecticut. It was a dominant performance from start to finish.
However, Clark's mounting technical tally is becoming a real concern.

Under new WNBA rules, eight technical fouls trigger an automatic one-game suspension. Clark is now tied with Angel Reese for the league lead in technicals this season.
Caitlin Clark's WNBA technical fouls have become a growing subplot to an otherwise strong campaign. Her intensity fuels Indiana's play on both ends. Yet that same edge keeps putting her in officials' sights.
"I'm never going to back down," Clark said of her latest offense.
"I think just continue to try to control your emotions the best you can. That intensity and that fire is what makes me, me, but also knowing my team needs me and finding a good balance of that. But I don't think I'm going to be playing with that in the back of my head."
For now, Clark will need to find the balance. One more tech means sitting out, and with Indiana pushing for playoff positioning, the Fever can't afford to be without her.
